Looking for a simple, summery craft? Make a watermelon out of a paper plate! This fun paper plate craft involves cutting, gluing and painting to produce a vibrant piece of watermelon.
Stuff Needed:
- A paper plate.
- Red and green paint.
- Black paper.
- Glue.
- Scissors.
- A Paint brush and something to put paint in.
Instructions:
- Prepare a surface to paint.
- (Optional) On the bottom of the plate draw a line in pencil close to the edge all the way around. This is so you know where to paint.
- Paint the outside edge of the plate green.
- Leave the paint to dry. Whilst it´s drying, cut small circles of black paper (about 12 – 16 of them).
- Paint the middle part of the plate red, then leave it to dry.
- (Optional) Cut the plate in half or into segments.
- Glue the black circles onto the red part of the paper plate. These are the watermelon seeds. They look best if you keep them on the flat part of the plate.
